Installing ChatGPT for Confluence

To install the app go to, as an Admin, to Settings (the cogwheel icon at the top tight) click Apps. You can search for the app by name, and then continue an install it..

Once you successfully installed ChatGPT for Confluence, it is available as a macro in your Confluence pages.

Using the ChatGPT for Confluence Macro

Using the Chat GPT for Confluence app is extremely simple! After the setup is completed, the macro is ready to work for you. In you Confluence page, while in edit mode, click the Insert button and find the ChatGPT for Confluence macro.

Alternatively, type /ChatGPT Macro in the page.

The macro container appears on the page.

You can now type a processing request in the Prompt field. Use the examples given as inspiration, or bring your own. Then, click Generate. The Confluence page content will now be sent towards ChatGPT to be processed according to your prompt. This can take several seconds.

After a short while, the processed results appear inside the macro container. According to the results you can decide to try again with a modified prompt, or click Insert and save the results.

Tips and Tricks

ChatGPT is a fantastic AI Large Language Model with amazing capabilities. However, depending on the action prompt and the source field content, it may not always give you the results you are looking for. The adjustment of the action prompt can significantly alter the result. We found that the summarization and translation tasks are very powerful, but there are countless others. Feel free to experiment with the prompt. The options are endless.
When using the app with the same source field content, or making repeated calls, the results may be different each time. This is part of the human-like nature of the LLM
