Issue Fields

Managing Columns

By default, group issues are displayed with their issue Key and issue Description. Clicking on the Columns button at the top menu, allows you to select any issue fields you desire to be added to the group display. You can set up to 15 column fields you want to see on the screen. You can also remove existing columns from the group view. Column setting applies to all the groups in the screen.

You can drag and drop the columns to change their order. You can also resize column width at the column header line.

Note : for a field to be displayed in Quick View it must exist in the Jira Issue Edit screen. Otherwise, an error message will appear.

Sorting, Filtering and Column Operations

Sorting

Clicking on a column field name sorts the group of issues by the fields value. Clicking again reverses the sort order. Finally, clicking once more, returns the column to its pre-sort state.

Filtering

Clicking on the field menu sign opens a popup from which you can select the issues with values to be displayed.

Column Operations

When a field displayed the the group has a numeric value, the sum of the values of the group issues is displayed by default at the bottom of the respective column. When the field value is Jira effort type (with years, weeks, days, hours and minutes) the sum is properly calculated accordingly. Additionally, you can select the average option, to display the average value at the bottom of the column.

Field Editing

Most issue fields are editable directly from the Quick View screen. To change a field value, simply click on it and update the value in the opened form. Once you click the checkmark, the new value is saved in the issue and displayed.

For date fields you can select a new value from a date picker.

For drop-down and radio-button fields, such as issue Status or Assignee, pressing on the field will open a popup screen with all the relevant values. Pressing the value, will set the value in the issue.

Note: If a transition screen exists for the relevant value chosen, e.g., Status, the value will not be set, and an error message will appear. You need to change this value from the edit screen.

Coloring and Annotations

Field Color-Coding

For the drop-down fields, the header line will present a special icon that can control the colors coding per value of the field. A popup screen shows all values and their color codes. Pressing the color box will open available colors to choose from. After clicking Apply the screen will refresh and the new color scheme will be applied.

Annotation

Special signs can be added to dates. You can choose a special icon next to a date field to represent some sort of information or status per this field.
